Genealogical records confirm that Anna Brenneman (1819-1895) and Susanna Brenneman Hoerner (1822-1908) were both born in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania to Christian and Barbara Keller Brenneman.

Condition
Framed: 14 1/2 x 12 1/4 inches.Both in overall fine and stable condition. Susanna's portrait with significant but even toning throughout sheet. Embrittlement and unevenness to edges, with few areas of minor loss. Slight fading to image and text. Anna's portrait with few tears/losses to edges and one area of more significant loss to upper left corner. Sheet likely exposed to water, resulting in creasing, cockling, discoloration, and textural irregularities to vertical edges. Slight bleed to text beneath portrait.
